The Cleveland Browns, who took Trent Richardson and Brandon Weeden with the 4th and 22nd picks in the first round in the 2012 NFL draft, don’t have that high of expectations going into the 2012 season record wise, but their two new offensive rookie starters have a lot to prove.
The player with the highest expectations heading into the season is without a doubt 4th overall pick, RB Trent Richardson.
This kid was the highest rated running back since Adrian Peterson in 2007, and if he doesn’t live up to the hype, how will people look at him?
He instantly gives the Browns a new threat on offense. He also instantly improves their running game greatly.
Now on to QB Brandon Weeden. Taken as the 22nd overall pick, he will be the Browns starting QB heading into the season. He has been criticized for his age (28), but I don’t think that is a problem, it just means hes very mature and ready to start. After all, he is already been a pro with the Yankees. I expect Weeden to have a very solid rookie season in 2012, especially since he has Trent in the backfield to back him up.
Now, we can’t forget about the other players the Browns have, such as WR Greg Little, who had a disappointing season last year. as I discussed in a past article. A player I have not really written about yet is CB Joe Haden. Haden is quickly becoming one of the best CB’s in the league, and I expect more of the same this season. All in all, I don’t expect the Browns to go undefeated or anything like that this season, but I think we should definitely improved, anywhere from 6-9 winning games this year. Hope we have more, but I am not getting my hopes up. GO BROWNS! Don’t forget to check out my twitter, @BrownsTillDeath.
