Game #1: Pittsburg State vs. Northwest Missouri State (October 13, 2012) Game played at Arrowhead Stadium: This matchup pins two top 5 teams in Division II in a battle that very well could decide the MIAA crown. Both teams should come into the game undefeated. Last season Pittsburg State took both games off of Northwest Missouri, so revenge will be on the minds of the Northwest Missouri players. The playmaking ability in this game is through the roof with players such as Pitt State’s John Brown and Northwest Missouri’s James Franklin and Jordan Simmons. All eyes will be on Kansas City, Missouri on this Saturday.
Game #2: Nebraska-Kearney at Washburn (August 30, 2012): The newcomer to the MIAA squares off against Washburn in the season opener for both teams.
This game will be no easy task for either team as both need to replace their starting QB.
Both teams have solid Wide Receivers as Washburn is lead by Dejaun Beard and Nebraska-Kearney has a stud in Tommy Flanagan. Look for the winner of this game to gain some early confidence heading into the middle part of their season.
Game #3: Central Missouri at Missouri Western (August 30, 2012): Another conference opener for both teams and another tough start to the season for the loser. Like the previous matchup, the winner will have some confidence going into the early part of their schedule. Central Missouri is led by a stud at TE in David Cannon. He is a mismatch for linebackers and look for him to make his mark on this game. Well, Missouri Western has an X-Factor in David Bass. Bass who has the talent to play at the next level will be looking to match his numbers from a season ago. If the Central Missouri offensive line cannot contain or at least slow down Bass look for a monster game out of this defensive lineman.
Game #4: Lindenwood at Lincoln (Mo.) (September 1, 2012): This game may not have the same flare as the other games I have discussed, but it is the conference opener for both schools. Lindenwood is entering the MIAA and this is the first chance it has to pick up their first MIAA win in school history. Lincoln (Mo.) is looking to improve on their lowly season from a year ago. Expect the newcomer, Lindenwood, to get a test from Lincoln (Mo.) in this game.
2012 Predictions:
MIAA Champion: Northwest Missouri State
Sleeper: Missouri Western
