The Ravens, Steelers, and Bengals all made it to the playoffs last season. The Bengals lost to the Texans in the wild card game, the also lost in the wild card but to Denver I overtime, we know how that ended, and the Ravens lost in the AFC Championship game to the Patriots.
It will be interesting to see how this year will play out.
1st – Baltimore Ravens
Baltimore had a great season last year, just one catch away from going to the Super bowl and I see them doing it again this year. The only trouble they have had the past couple of years is the Steelers and without RB Rashard Mendenhall and WR Mike Wallace not at camp yet they shouldn’t be much of a threat. Terrell Suggs will miss some of the season but they still have a shutdown defense with Ed Reed, rookie LB Cortney Upshaw and of course Ray Lewis. Also, with one of the best RBs in the league with Ray Rice the Ravens will definitely win the north this year.
2nd – Pittsburgh Steelers
I know I said that they wouldn’t be much of a threat to Baltimore (which is true) but that doesn’t mean they won’t win 2nd. It will be close though Pittsburgh’s defense really puts them over the top for 2nd. WR Mike Wallace will be ready for the regular season. I say the Steelers barley take 2rd place over the Bengals.
3rd – Cincinnati Bengals
The Browns won’t be competition for 3rd but the Bengals will be competition for 2nd. With young stud A J Green and second year QB this will be very hard to tell who gets the 2nd and 3rd spot. In my opinion there run game improved with the signing of ex-patriot Benjarvis Green-Ellis. He rushed for over 1,000 yards on one of the biggest passing teams in the league.
4th – Cleveland Browns
I liked what they did in the draft but they are a rebuilding team and they won’t do much this season. Maybe in a couple of years they will make the playoffs or win the division, but that is not happening this year. Cleveland finishes in 4th.
