In My Head: The Thoughts of a Young College Football Blogger

Boise St. vs. Michigan St.

8:00 Pm: Well, it’s the start of the Boise St. versus Michigan St. game. I hope Boise St. still has the magic and doesn’t lose it like a high school girl loses her virginity.

8:10 Pm: OK, three and out. Not what I wanted to see, but oh well. This team always keeps me on my toes.

8:18 Pm: Jesus Christ. Le’Veon Bell is absolutely massive. He looks like the hulk running around tossing evil aliens who want to destroy Earth.

Yes, I forgot the names of the aliens from the Avengers. Oh great who is the idiot texting me saying “Yeah Boise St. is really good.”

God, I hate people who do that. Alright I’ll quickly make fun of his “favorite team”. (Insert Texas Joke here).

8:25 Pm: Holy Hell Boise St. with the INT. This is where I start making the “If they win God, I’ll head to church on Sunday..not really, but do me this favor.”

8:34 Pm: Really? The Broncos can’t score a TD. I’ll take 3 points but 7 would be better.

8:37 Pm: Oh wow Maxwell got rocked and a chance for another pick! Damn it should have been another pick. This moment is where the parents start yelling for me to stop cursing and shut up.

8:40 Pm: 4th and short for MSU. If they don’t give the ball to Bell, I’ll call Sparty up and have him wreck Dantonio.

8:43 Pm:  (F-Bomb). Did that 245 lb running back just complete a spin move and look fantastic doing it? I really hope this MSU teams wins the Big 10 though.  Actually, let me retract that statement. If either Wisconsin or Michigan St. wins it I’d be happy. Really hope it’s not Michigan or Nebraska. By the way, the MSU kicker just blasted a 50 yd field goal forcing me to think Boise St. is in trouble.

8:48 Pm: How big of a loser am I? It’s a Friday night and I’m sitting home watching this game and writing about my thoughts.  Normally, kids are getting smashed right now, but I need to write something and this idea isn’t too bad. Come to think about it I’ll go fetch myself a beer. Boise St.’s down 7 after the 1st quarter. It could be worse.

8:54 Pm: Boise St. runs the old RB toss back to the QB and boom! Big play! Follow that up with the WR pass and wait? This isn’t the Fiesta Bowl? Hey Chris Petersen how about we save the magic for the end of the game when you could need it.

8:56 Pm:  Maybe if ESPN keeps showing Kellen Moore on the sidelines one of two things will happen. 1) Kellen Moore will actually suit up for the Broncos 2) They’ll capture him getting the call from his Agent saying he made the Detroit Lions’ roster. Either way I can’t complain because Kellen Moore is a winner and winners win.  DJ Harper just got lit up. Shocked he isn’t hurt. Rod Gilmore is yapping about player’s safety, but I’m more worried about William Gholston murdering Joe Southwick.  (F-Bomb) for Joe Southwick throwing that pass which lead to the MSU int. Can’t give away points.

Ok it’s 9:05 pm and I really can’t keep typing all my thoughts plus I really don’t want to bore all the readers, so I’ll take a break for some of the 2nd quarter.

9:14 Pm: Boise St. returns an INT for a TD and ties it up. Maybe if I stop doing this dumb idea I had Boise St. will get something going.

9:20 Pm: That punter got a late hit penalty. HAHAHHAHA He isn’t even close to being Shane Lechler’s size. What a doofus.

9:25 Pm: Damn it. Inside the 5 and the Broncos can’t punch it in. Where is Ian Johnson or Zabransky when you need 7. Well, whatever. I’ll take being up by 3 right now.

9:30 Pm: Le’Veon Bell is literally thrashing this defense. This dude can’t be brought down with just one defender.

9:31 Pm: MSU 4th and short again. Great Le’Veon Bell is going to blast through on this one. Oh No! Boise St. with the stop. Remember the Oregon game when they shut down Blount. Here we go Broncos Here We GO! (yelling this in the Batdad voice from South Park. I want you Sparty!)

9:34 Pm: Despite Rod Gilmore’s advice to take it into half time with the lead Boise St. says “Screw you Rod. We want a bigger lead!” Shocker here. Mr. Gilmore was right as Boise St. throws a backwards pass and wait for it…MSU ball. F*ck.

9:36 Pm: Jesus Lord. Things ESPN will not let go. 1. Tebow/The Jets 2. PSU 3. Tony Romo. In case you haven’t been watching First Take these are the only things they discuss.

9:37 Pm: Need a couple more beers and I’ll be firing on all cylinders.

9:40 Pm: HAHAHHA Rod Gilmore is actually laughing his ass off because neither Coaching staff will take his advice and play it safe. He’s in the booth flipping off both teams like Stone Cold Steve Austin. Ok halftime. Time to shut it down and just casually watch the 2nd half until the 4th quarter.

Back at it again at 10:56 Pm right after Le’Veon Bell bulldozed his way into the end zone and put the Spartans up 17-13. For those who know me I’m cursing up a storm right now, but Joe Southwick and Boise St. have had some momentum and this isn’t over. Maybe if I get back on here and start typing my thoughts they’ll get things rolling.

11:01 Pm: Hooooorrayyy a 3rd and short and Boise St. picks it up behind a QB sneak. Next play is a 15 yd penalty on MSU and the Broncos are in business. Jesus after 2 deep balls that should have been completed, I’m up in arms screaming at the TV. Isn’t it fun being a fan of the ultimate underdog?

11:03 Pm: Of course Boise picks up the first down, but MSU is awarded the timeout before the ball was snapped. BCS Conspiracy!

11:06 Pm: Why wouldn’t you run the same play or run it instead of passing it. Ok 6:32 left and 2 timeouts. Great why does Le’Veon Bell have to be having his career game tonight? This looks bleak.

11:09 Pm: Got a text saying “Why aren’t you at the bar?” My response “Watching Boise St. now. Line up the shots in case they lose.”

11:12 Pm: Oh great here come the texts about how Boise St. is terrible and how they are overrated. These critics forget that Boise St. lost a boatload of talent (NFL talent I might add) and these jobbers want to talk about being overrated. Let’s see that Michigan game tomorrow and then we’ll talk overrated. (Update Sunday 11:44 AM: WOW! Michigan looked great..Fart Noise. The Big 10 once again flops on the national stage.)

11:17 Pm: I’m convinced if MSU makes a run and gets to the Rose Bowl Le’Veon Bell will be in NYC for the Heisman  Trophy and he has an awesome shot to win it.

11:19 Pm: Well, Boise St. couldn’t close this one. Le’Veon Bell was too much for the Broncos and the streak is snapped.  It’s time for this guy to get off the computer and get ready to watch an entire SATURDAY of college football.
