How Bad are Things at Auburn?

wikipediaIn the state of Alabama, there are the Alabama fans that are extremely happy with how their season is going. Then in Auburn, Alabama you have Auburn fans that are about ready to riot because of how bad things have gotten. First of all, their offense is absolutely atrocious. I don’t understand how a team with decent recruiting classes in the last three years has no playmakers on offense. The tigers rank 115th in pass offense and 117th in points for.

Head Coach Gene Chizik needs to find an answer and find one quickly because his job is on the line.

He was a questionable hire when they brought him in then he (or should I say Cam Newton and that defense) won him the national title. He hasn’t lived up to expectations ever since then and it isn’t for a lack of talent. The defense has been ok at times compared to the offense, but overall the Tigers as a team are poor.

They have dropped three straight games including losses to “Oh I guess we’ll play today” Arkansas and Ole Miss. Auburn’s lone win came against Louisiana-Monroe in OT and they probably should have lost that one too. They could possibly sneak a W out against Vanderbilt then get routed by Texas A&M. So, that would leave them at 2-6 overall. The leadership aspect is not there in the locker room and if Gene Chizik cannot manage to start picking up wins he will be out of a job come December. I don’t understand how things have gotten this bad at Auburn. Auburn was riding high coming off that national title, but ever since then it has been a downhill slide.
