The SEC Bias

WikipediaI was recently on Facebook and I noticed a terrible thing. So, many people despise the SEC and their type of play. I don’t get it. Are people just that dumb or as a society have people completely forgotten what a great team looks like? People will argue that the SEC doesn’t step out of their own conference to play anyone, but Alabama played what was supposed to be a better Michigan team and LSU has went to different places to play tough opponents. My argument is that the SEC doesn’t need to play anyone else besides themselves.

The SEC is so physical and dominating that they shouldn’t have to go outside and play nonconference ranked opponents because they play enough of them inside conference play.

The next thing these ignorant people will talk about how boring the games are. Yes, we know 20-17 point games aren’t wild, but if you take a second to realize that it’s almost the same as two top NFL defenses on the field you would have a different perspective.

The SEC is “big boy” football. They run the ball, play amazing defense, and just dominate nonconference opponents, but people would rather see a 51-48 Big XII shootout with no defense. People need to realize the SEC is in a completely different category when it comes to college football. They are just BETTER than everyone else. A conference does not win 6, yes 6, National Championships in a row by coincidence. Alabama and LSU are facing off this weekend and it will probably be another tight game. Let’s say 20-10 final. People will talk about how lame that game was and both teams aren’t that good compared to Oregon and Kansas St, but when the National Title game comes around and one SEC team is in it, they’ll be the favorite to win because they ARE SIMPLY better.

The SEC has the talent to prepare for an offense. Alabama lost quite a bit of talent from that defense and they just RELOAD with more NFL talent. If people don’t like seeing NFL defenses and pro style offenses that is acceptable, but realize that the SEC is good. They are the best conference. PERIOD. END OF STORY. So, to all my SEC fans, save your words. Don’t argue with these ignorant idiots. Save your words for the day after the SEC wins its 7th consecutive BCS National Title and then let them have it. I know I will.
